Weight Loss Boot Camp
Before selecting a weight loss boot camp, let me give you a few things that might change your selection, or just reassure you more that you’ve made the right choice. These are lifestyle changes and you know that it’s a major life event when you deal with eating. So if you don’t know what kind of program is for you because you’ve found yourself bouncing from weight loss programs and from gaining and losing weight over the years then you know right now that restrictive diets and short term fixes won’t cut it.
Find a place that actually understands your feelings around food and eating. Don’t necessarily work with diet, but go with a weight loss boot camp that emphasizes assisting you in finding your healthy weight and feel good about yourself at that weight. And if the camp can make you have fun while you’re doing it, that’s even better. Ask for references.
We are different than we were 5 years ago. Busier, more stress. You should research and try to find a weight loss boot camp that is interested in making you a healthy person, and the weight issue becomes secondary. It will follow, once you’re healthy. When you are healthy, you keep the weight off, forever. There are reasons why diets and fads don’t work.
Many weight loss boot camps aren’t the answer. What you lose there can be temporary. Behavioral change can’t occur when you don’t learn the basics of eating. You need to know how to eat, not how to diet. It’s an issue of changing the way you think as opposed to just following a plan.
The best camps teach behavioral and emotional triggers and how you think about yourself. Many issues of self-acceptance and how you see yourself need to be addressed and you will find the best camps do this. This is really the key. Those places that address these issues along with you are the camps you need to pinpoint.
So my recommendation is to find a weight loss boot camp that works on helping you form new habits and not those that work with their own diet products, necessarily. Habits take a month to change. It’s a mindset change and working with you in a supportive manner that makes the steps easier to take and allows you to win on small gains and feel good about yourself. At the same time your mind is changing about the way you think about food, and why you eat.
There are so many to choose from. I suggest starting online and looking for camps that offer a guarantee of some sort in case you fall ill, or need to reschedule. Make sure that you have clear communication and that the people want to help you at every level in the organization. It’s important to know that this is your money and you are doing this for you and these people are working for you. I trust that you will find the perfect camp for you and that you will get to the weight you dream of.
