Fitness Boot Camps

Look for a different style here. I’ve mentioned before that these are not specifically designed to lose weight, but rather, to tone you up and get you in shape. You should already be on your way with a good weight loss regime before you enlist in a fitness boot camp. The idea here is to keep you trim or to work on getting you that way. It assumes that you have the routine of weight loss and nutrition down.

Now expect to meet a few times a week with other participants. These fitness boot camps are generally run by weight loss centers or gyms and involve warming up with a good hour of cardio. One of my favorite places does an hour hike before they get into anything else. It really all depends on location. Jogging is good, but some places only allow for running in place, or working out doing jumping jacks or other in-place exercises.

You normally pay by the class or weekly and some have a fee where you pay for the camp and then come as often as you like. That might be the one for you if you need the motivation. And you’ll find that a lot of people that attend these fitness boot camps come over and over.

Most participants find that they will lose body fat at the workouts and begin to run faster. And it seeps into other areas of your life, too. You’ll have more confidence and might even take up a new sport. Many go back to school or take up something new. It’s a real stress reliever and can be worked into most any situation.

The inspiration for fitness boot camps actually comes from the military and those military training camps you’ve probably heard of. But don’t expect to be intimidated. Instructors just use the words boot camp to play off the results you find from the military. But camps have found that when people are in groups, they tend to push themselves anyway. There is no need to yell. Negative reinforcement only goes so far.

You will feel empowered by what you get from a fitness boot camp. They do talk about nutrition, but don’t expect it to be the same as what you’d get from a spa or weight loss camp. And remember that it really is a boot camp. You’re going to be expected to show up on time and pay attention. And give it your all to get best results. These camps are about as intense as it gets. You’ll want to know that you will feel more disciplined and confident as a result. Plus you’re going to be in better shape and more fit.

Don’t just drop in on any fitness boot camp. Look for those that have been around for a while and are run by people who are inspiring. Make sure that there is a guarantee of some sort that you will receive good training and if you don’t show, what to expect. If you become ill, or can’t make it, it is good to know if there is a money-back guarantee. Fitness boot camps often run discounts online so search before you make your final decision.
